How Do I Bid On Items In The Auction?

You must be authorised to bid for each auction either online at www.easyliveauction.com or in person at our reception at least 30 minutes before each auction.
Authorisation to bid in the room is £1 and you will be provided with a bidding paddle and a catalogue.

Postage and Packaging
We will post and package small items, sent within the UK. If you require our postage and packaging services, please advise us and we will re-issue your invoice after the sale to include these charges. Please note that no weapons/items considered dangerous will be posted, and we will adhere to the restrictions placed on the postage of items as set out by Royal Mail.

Items Despatched Within The UK - Postage and Packing Quotations
Depending on value, size and weight, items will either be sent by Royal Mail 1st class signed for, Royal Mail Special Delivery by 1pm next day, or Parcelforce.

Our postage charges are split into postage and packing charges. The postage will be calculated around the costs charged by the service provider (Royal Mail, Parcelforce etc). A packing charge is payable and is dependent on the items to be packed plus administration costs.

For larger or particularly valuable items, we recommend Mail Boxes Etc (Tel: 029 21322157) www.mbe.co.uk or https://www.packsend.co.uk Buyers may also arrange their own courier to pack and collect their items.

All items must be paid for and collected by 5pm on Monday following the auctions, without exception.

Our catalogues are uploaded to our website, Facebook page and www.easyliveauction.com on a THURSDAY afternoon.

Once our catalogue is uploaded on a Thursday you can register to bid online via our website. To do this go to the subheading 'Catalogues' and click on ' Register For Auction'.
You can also bid online live by clicking the button labelled ' Click to bid live'. Alternatively you can go to easyliveauction.com click on 'Auctions' within the header and then click on 'Cardiff City Auctions' on the left hand side bar, view our catalogue and register to bid.

We accept commission bids in advance of the auction via email, over the phone or in person at reception. These bids must be placed at least 30 minutes before auction start. You need to register with us for each auction to be able to leave a commission bid.

Simply state the maximum price you would like to leave as your highest bid for that lot. Our auctioneer and the Easy Live system does not start the auction bidding at the highest amount you left, bidding on your behalf is done taking any set reserve price into consideration and any other bids into account.

Collection

To avoid disruption we do not allow any items to be removed until the auction has ended.

All items must be paid for and collected by 5pm on Monday following the auctions. Goods will not be released to buyers until funds are received in full.

How Do I Sell Items With You?

We accept entries for auction Monday - Wednesday 10am until 4pm. Please send photographs of your items before bringing them down, so that we can ensure that they are suitable for auction, and avoid any unnecessary trips. Please forward photographs to contact@cardiffcityauctions.com or send photos via WhatsApp to 07389152255. Alternatively if you simply need some advice or are unable to send photographs you can also telephone us on 02920 465377.

Once we have agreed your items are suitable for auction, simply bring them down to us, we will register you on our system then provide you with a unique sellers number and a receipt for the items you have left for auction.

We charge a 17.5% commission on the hammer price of any sold lots, plus VAT on the commission. We also charge a lot fee of £4 plus VAT per lot entered into auction, this covers photographing & sorting your lots and entering them to our online auction.

Seller payments are processed from 14 days after the auction subject to us receiving cleared funds. We pay out by cash or by bank transfer, please make sure we have the correct bank account, sort code and name of account for us to process your funds.

Any lots you have entered into the auction but have not sold, must be collected upon instruction from us, we normally enter items into auction twice.

We also offer a valuation & house clearance service. We can provide you with free initial advice on how to proceed. We can visit your property at a mutual time to discuss your clearance requirements. There is no charge for this visit.

Once you are happy with our quote and happy to proceed we then arrange a convenient date to start the clearance. We are licensed waste carriers and eco sustainability is of huge importance to us! This is the main reason we hold two auctions, not only can we auction your antiques and jewellery etc but we can auction your white goods, tools and garden equipment in our Saturday household auction.
